Cindy Augustine has been working with children since she was a teenager. Cindy, who was born and raised in San Jose, CA, began volunteering in a daycare center when she was sixteen years old. She then worked for the YWCA in Santa Clara, CA for seven years before becoming a nanny. She always loved working with children, but wanted to become a nanny to be able to care for just a couple of children, which allows a more one-on-one relationship. She was working for a family in California that moved to New York for business reasons. She came with them and decided to stay in New York even after that position ended.
Cindy’s creative talents enable her to create a fun environment for her charges. Cindy was involved in musical theater in her teen years, performing 4 musicals a year with the Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose. She also tap dances!
Cindy has worked for families facing difficult challenges, including a family with a member that has advanced cancer. Cindy has a wonderful, positive attitude which enables her to face challenges while staying optimistic. Her current employer says that Cindy’s motto is “not a problem,” and that she’s a favorite of other children in the neighborhood. She is described by her employers as being, kind, supportive, creative and always helpful.
Cindy accompanied her current employer’s family on a week-long vacation with another family over the summer. The other mother, a well-known writer, was so impressed with Cindy that she published an article about her. You can find the article by going to the following link:
