- Unlike online services, we know our background screenings are accurate because researchers go to the courthouses to
review court documents. Background checks are run in all states where the Helper has live/worked, and under all names she has used.

And our relationship doesn’t end once you’ve hired your Helper. Our staff is available to you on an on-going basis for the duration of
your employment relationship with your Helper. We can even provide you with back-up care when your Helper goes on vacation!

- Are personally interviewed in our office
- Have a minimum of 3 verifiable references
- Submit to a criminal background check
- Submit to a DMV (driver’s license) check
- Submit a Social Security verification

Family Helpers encourages our New York clients to utilize the Fingerprint database made available to families under Kiernan’s Law.
Under this law, families may obtain a criminal background check on a potential in-home child care provider. The cost is
approximately $75 and involves fingerprinting a potential employee. To obtain more information regarding this law, please phone
